Intuit sees 155% improvement in goal attainment with BetterUp

Intuit, the global technology firm powering prosperity with TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp was on a mission to accelerate development and performance for high-impact people leaders. These leaders are the linchpin of the organization’s success, responsible for leading their teams through uncertainty and change and driving employee engagement and performance across the company.

To help them lead most effectively in the face of uncertainty and rapid change, Intuit provided a population of its leaders with individualized 1:1 coaching through BetterUp. Thousands of leaders had the opportunity to work with a dedicated Coach to develop the skills that help them lead teams, demonstrate authenticity and compassion, and support the well-being of their people.

Partnering with BetterUp sparked swift and significant impact on these leaders and their teams. An analysis of these leaders’ outcomes before and after their coaching experiences revealed improvements in goal attainment and critical Intuit leadership behaviors, as well as key indicators of engagement and retention. 

BetterUp helped leaders at Intuit increase progress toward their quarterly goals by 155%, as rated by their managers. These leaders have also demonstrated significant improvement in Intuit’s desired leadership behaviors, including a 35% improvement in focus, 33% increase in strategic planning, and 20% improvement in agility. 

The partnership with BetterUp has also had an impact on the key drivers of retention. The organization found that coaching spurred a 12% improvement in employee experience and an employer NPS 17 points higher than scores pre-coaching — an improvement of 35%.
