A 19-year-old man suffered leg injuries Friday after being thrown from his motorcycle when a car pulled in front of him in the Mission Valley East neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department said.

SDPD said in a news release that just after 8 a.m., the man was riding a 2015 Honda PGM-FI motorcycle on 1400 Camino De Rio South, when a 46-year- old woman driving a 2023 Mazda CX-30 pulled in front of him. She was attempting to merge onto the road from a driveway, police said.

The motorcyclist “had to stop abruptly and was ejected from the motorcycle,” SDPD said.

Police said the man was treated at an area hospital for an open fracture to his right ankle and lower leg, along with a fracture to his left lower leg and significant laceration to his left thigh. The injuries were not- life threatening, SDPD added.
