Mostly cloudy, cool weather will prevail this weekend for San Diego County, with dry and warmer conditions expected through most of next week, forecasters said Saturday.
A high of 65 was expected in the downtown San Diego area Saturday, with similar weather and a slight chance of showers before 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Along the coast, a mix of partly cloudy and clear conditions is expected next week, with daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s. Inland valley areas are expected to see cloudy conditions in the morning through the week, with clear conditions in the afternoon and highs reaching the upper 70s.
The deserts are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs reaching the mid-90s by Friday. Sunny conditions are expected in the mountains throughout the week, with highs in the mid-70s.
Sunday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a high-risk rip current, with surf height from 3 to 5 feet and a west swell from 280 degrees.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 3 p.m. Saturday until at least 8 p.m. Sunday for county deserts and mountains.
Northwest wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots are expected Saturday evening through Sunday evening, which could generate hazardous boating conditions, especially in the outer waters. Northwest wind gusts up to 20 knots could occur over the outer waters each afternoon and evening for Monday through the middle of next week, according to the National Weather Service.
In addition, a small craft advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday until at least 3 a.m. Monday for waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border extending 30 to 60 nautical miles out, including San Clemente Island.
