One person was killed Sunday when his vehicle veered off southbound Route 163 in Linda Vista and rolled over in early morning rain.

The crash was reported at 4:19 a.m. north of Friars Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

First responders found the heavily-damaged vehicle on its roof, and the male victim’s body approximately 50 feet away.

Officials said the victim was likely ejected in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
