Firefighters battled a structure fire that broke out in the Encanto neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday morning.

Units were dispatched at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and arrived a few minutes later to 538 61st St. near the intersection of Imperial Avenue, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

A total of 30 personnel were assigned to the fire, including one truck, four engines and one medic, fire officials said.

The fire was put out within 15 minutes, but there was heavy damage throughout the house.

Two people and a dog were displaced by the blaze.

A fire investigator and the Red Cross were also sent to the site, and personnel from National City assisted in the effort as well.
