Windy and slightly cooler conditions are expected in the beginning of the week for San Diego County, with low clouds in the nights and mornings, forecasters said Sunday.
A beach hazard warning will be in effect until at least Monday evening for coastal areas throughout the county, with elevated surf and strong rip currents creating hazardous swimming conditions. Officials advise remaining out of the water, according to the National Weather Service.
A high near 65 is expected in the downtown San Diego area Monday, with mostly cloudy conditions throughout the day.
High temperatures at the coast Monday could reach 69, 67 to 72 in the western valleys, 62 to 72 in the mountains and 87 to 92 in the deserts, meteorologists said.
Monday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a high-risk rip current, with surf height from 3 to 5 feet, sets to 6 feet and a mixed southwest swell from 220 degrees and west swell from 270 degrees.
“Winds and marine layer clouds can be expected from Tuesday through the end of the week, where we will see slightly below average temperatures and May Gray conditions west of the mountains in the morning with general clearing toward the coast by the afternoons,” the NWS said.
